| The steroid hormones are lipids in nature, which play crucial roles in several metabolic and behavioral pathways in mammals. Drug therapy uses sterol hormones for treating some disturbances linked with its deficiency; however, the illicit use of these hormones by amateur and elite athletes to enhance performance or body appearance may lead to several health issues.
